AMATEUR vs PRO

To be eligible for any amateur Recon Tour contest and compete within an age group and/or Open division, you must be considered 'amateur' in status. As it relates to the Recon Tour, any participant, including winners of past Recon Tour stops, are eligible to compete as long as they have maintained an amateur status and meet the requirements used to define amateur status below:

- If you have finished top 10 in a professional contest, such as X Games, Dew Tour, ASA, Simple Session, Texas Toast, Play Pro, Recon Tour Pro within the past 2 years, you are not eligible to compete.

-If you have won a prior year Recon Tour AM Open division, but not made top 10 in any pro event listed above you still need to compete in the Recon Tour AM events to qualify for Recon Tour Pro.

- If you have received monetary-based sponsorships or compensation above and beyond that which covers minimal travel expenses and/or is considered part of your income, you are not eligible to compete as an AM and must compete in the PRO contest.

- PRO Recon Tour contests will be open registration, but your registration will be considered as pending until you are officially approved to be eligible to compete as a Pro rider.

- Recon Tour Management reserves the right to:

1) Determine riders' amateur status prior to each contest and notify participants at any time during contest if they are NOT eligible to compete.

2) Determine rider’s amateur status following each contest at anytime prior to the Recon Tour Am Final, which may results in disqualification from the Recon Tour Am Final benefits if they are found to not meet the guidelines stated above.
